2012-2013 Board Members
RN Nursing Program at Fortis College in Murray, Utah. Expected graduation is December 2012. I have 3 children that are my world, and everything I do is for them.I served almost nine years in the United States Army. During my tenure, I served as a Combat Medic for the first six years of my military career. The job of a Combat Medic consisted of working on the front lines with wounded soldiers. After having a conversation with an Officer on Khandar Airfield in Afghanistan, I decided to enter a nursing program and applied for the Army Licensed Practical Nursing Program. Upon completion of the program, I obtained a Practical Nursing Licensed in 2007. After receiving my licensures, I practiced in the nursing field for four years before making the decision to further my education in the nursing field. I felt that I would be able to assist people on various levels if I were to become a Registered Nurse . I am looking forward to serving in the role of USNA President and hope to be able to provide resources and support to help you reach your goals of becoming Registered Nurses. We have a wonderful group of Board Members all striving to make this a great year

My name is Taylor Remer and I am in Southern Utah University’s BSN program. I have an Associates of Science and will graduate in 2013 with my Bachelors in Nursing. I am 21 years old and grew up in Las Vegas, NV. I have lived in the beautiful town of Cedar City, UT for the last 3 years. I am a sweet, kind, loving, positive person that believes life should be lived to its absolute fullest, and I model my life around this. I am someone that is constantly smiling and I find joy in the little things in life. Being positive and smiling is such an important value in my life and in nursing. A smile goes a long way, and I’ve seen how it helps a patient’s experience and recovery. In high school, I played many sports, including track, cross-country, soccer, cheerleading and dance. I was Senior Prom Queen and voted biggest heart. Currently, I am in SUU’s honors program, SUU’s Service and Learning Club and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I dedicate a lot of my time to serving others and incorporate it into my everyday life. In my free time, I enjoy to ride horses and take my dogs for walks with my husband. The outdoors is very relaxing and I enjoy all the scenery Utah has to offer. I love to spend time with my family and friends. Family is one of the most important things in my life, and it always will be. Some of the values that are very important to me are a listening heart, hard work, loyalty, integrity and trust. These values are an intricate part of who I am. I am currently my nursing class secretary, SUUSNA Historian and USNA Treasurer. I plan to bring a lot to USNA and I will do my absolute best in this position!

Hi! I’m
Nicole Watt. I was born in Idaho but raised in Ogden Utah. I have one brother
who has downs syndrome and he truly is my inspiration. He has more health
issues than most could fathom, but still he is the happiest guy ever! I am
married and have five girls. Two of them I did not birth yet I have the joy of
them calling me mom. Four of my five girls are all 7 years old so you can
imagine our house is a circus on any given day. In my free time I love doing
anything that involves the outdoors and my family. I love fishing, boating,
camping, 4-wheeling, hiking and even yard work.
I love humanitarian work and have had the opportunity of helping those less fortunate both in our beautiful nation and in other countries. I believe the most rewarding things in life involve helping others. My love for people is why I decided to go into nursing. I attend Fortis College in Salt Lake City. I am expected to graduate in Dec 2013. I have worked in many areas of the medical field but I truly believe nursing is the heart of patient care and I can’t wait to put to practice what I have learned. I am the Breakthrough to Nursing Chair for USNA. Breakthrough to Nursing is a program that helps recruit underrepresented groups into the field of Nursing, with the recognition that Nursing requires members from all walks of life to provide optimal care to patients. These groups include racial and ethnic minorities, LGBTQ, men, high school students, older people looking for a second career, and more. I can help support your Nursing Program with ideas and resources to reach out to groups in your community to get them interested in Nursing. Please contact me at btn.usna@gmail.com |

My name is Jaclyn Waters. I was born and raised in the small, but amazing town of Richfield, Utah. I graduated from Richfield High School in May of 2009. I have one younger brother, two older sisters, and two incredible parents. I love family bonding time with the ‘”simple six”. In my spare time I love being at the lake, four wheeling, playing softball, snowboarding, being with my friends, and laughing! I’m currently attending SUU and in my second semester of the nursing program. Nursing school has definitely been a huge adjustment, but I love it! I’m excited to take on this new responsibility of USNA communications director. I’m a little overwhelmed and still have lots and lots to learn, but it will be a great year!!
